Open Slowly
Rule of thumb is always look in the mirror before opening your door to check if there’s anything that you might hit and cause dents on your car. Now even if you checked in the mirror it’s still best if you don’t just swing the door abruptly. Doing it slower gives you time to react if you’re about to hit a pole or wall.

Practice Parallel Parking
It’s always important to keep your driving skills sharp, especially parallel parking. Taking some time to practice your on-street parking skills will allow you to better control your vehicle in these situations, helping you stop your car before you back into a pole on the sidewalk or even another car. Continuing to practice this skill all throughout your life will allow you park your car with ease in any situation while keeping your bumpers dent free!

Keep Your Car Covered
Even a warm garage beats being parked in the sun all day. So whenever there’s an available garage, use it. Not only that your interior will stay cool, but your paint job won’t suffer to premature damage either. But it doesn’t mean you can just park anywhere when it’s not hot, make an effort to always park in a covered parking lot all the time because all kinds of extreme weather can damage you exterior. If you really can’t find one, at least be prepared with a car cover to give your vehicle some protection.

Don’t Put Anything On It If You Can Help It
If you can avoid it, don’t put anything on your car to prevent any risk of the item pushing down on the body and causing dents. If you’re with someone, ask that person to hold the item for you while you open the car. But if you’re alone simply place it on the ground or hold on to it of it’s not too heavy and doesn’t get in your way.
